Family Vacation: DC Edition

Well, we had our first vacation as a family of three and we had so much fun! I was of course worried for Harper's first airplane ride (who am I kidding--I was worried about my stupid claustrophobia) but it was nice to have H to worry about. And of course, she traveled like a champ. Are you even surprised?
She waved to everyone she saw, stood on my lap and shook the seat in front of us, and finally fell asleep. Angel. I don't even think the guy in front of us minded one bit ; )

After a last-minute diaper change we were the last to board! We had to hustle.

I'm not so sure about this.

OK, flying is cool with me.

Once we got to DC, we were picked up by my best friend, Ashley, and her 2 year-old daughter, Mary Jane. I was SO EXCITED for Harper and Mary Jane to meet. And of course, they were BFFLs from the beginning.

Getting acquainted in the car.

To Mary Jane we are "Nani, Uncle Kevin, and Baby Harper." Steal my heart.

We were very busy every day in DC. The first day we were there we did a little of the "tourist thing" and saw the gorgeous cherry blossoms.

That night we had dinner with (most) of the Schmidt Family. It was so cool that Abbey had a band performance in Virginia the same weekend!

The next day, we had to get down to business. Wedding business. Ashley picked out the Bridesmaid Dresses and we had a girls day. Swoon over the girls' matching outifts and the four of us lunchin it:

The girls could not get enough of each other. It was adorable.

The next day was the most fun. Ever. I've been waiting to go wedding dress shopping with Ashley ever since she went with me going on 5 years ago!  It was a perfect day and I hope that she had as much fun as I did! Ashley is the one person that would do anything for me and I'm going to try my best, but I don't think it's possible to top the Maid of Honor duties that she did for me.

While we were wedding dress shopping and getting tipsy at lunch with Mother Jane and Aunt Dianne, they boys took the girls to the zoo. I heard that Harper slept through most of it, but when she was awake she thought the elephant was a dog. Close. The whole gang met up in Georgetown for dinner and what's Georgetown without cupcakes?

Two of my favorite people.

Family love.

Best Friends with Baby Friends.

We wrapped up a fun and memorable trip with brunch at The-Future-Webb's apartment. Thanks, Ashley & Stan, ya'll were too good to us and we can't wait for ya'll to come see us in Destin! :)
