10 Months

This month was so fun because Harper's little personality is coming out more and more everyday. She doesn't have any problem letting us know when she's bored, happy, and even proud of herself. She has new best friends (maybe even a boyfriend?) She loves her music and dances to everything she hears. Mealtimes are fun and MESSY. She has expanded her vocabulary to include: Mamma, Daddy, baby, Hi, Bye, Ilahyou, Uh! (no "oh" yet but that's ok), and of course Da! Da! which means Dog. She's pulling up on EVERYTHING and proves my baby proofing skills are weak daily. Here's a little bit about our month:

Yay! Hair!

I can move doors now & it's fun to dump coins on the floor.

Yum!

Our most exciting event took place this month and that was Harper's Baby D. Our church held an adorable event for friends and family to come and share their wishes for Harper as she grows physically, mentally, and in her faith. It was so touching that the people from our church put so much time and love into the event. It was such a special day.

Kevin and I completed homework assignments leading up to the event in which we had to determine what habits and values we want our family to develop. Some of the things that were important to us are:  establishing and growing faith, morals, respect, integrity, family values, communication, honesty, kindness, and LOVE. Some habits that we want to continue and create are: praying together as a family every night and to make our marriage a strong example of what we want for Harper.

We also had to write letters to her that are now in her baby book. I would post it here, but I turn into a big blubbering mess after "Dear Harper..."

Raising a child is hard. You know all of the values and things you want to instill in them but it is so hard to verbalize. At the simplest level, I want the best for Harper. I want her to be the best that she can be.

Friends from our small group, Angela & Steve

Harper's favorite friends from Waumba Land, Mrs. Nadine and Ms. Sierra

We were also joined at Baby D by the entire Schmidt clan because Mr. Neyland was dedicated too! It was so much fun. We missed my parents and grandparents very much but we'll throw a mini-celebration with them when they get back from Italy, Greece, and Ireland.

We love you so much, Harper. And we're so proud of you. We hope that we make you proud as your parents.

Love,
Momma & Daddy
